We emphasize Process over Product. While every participant heads home with fun & fabulous finished projects each day our focus is on the experience shared in the art studio. We are not making masterpieces. We see a child’s completed art projects as an important tool to communicate their ideas to family and friends and consider their work beyond the camp. Talking with your child and asking questions are important segments of their learning cycle.

The vision of a child is respected. Our rolls as Cloud 9 Workshop teachers are to design thoughtful art experiences that teach skills, introduce past and current ideas and inspire curiosity. We work as facilitators to guide a child’s work and help bring their ideas to life in a caring environment where they are comfortable taking on new challenges, making mistakes and celebrating successes.

We care for our environment and utilize up-cycled materials commonly found at home. Students have access and are introduced to a variety of traditional art materials and incorporate repurposed and recycled materials easily found as home. Reusing materials is not only good for the environment it also allows a child to continue creating at home all summer long. We view their work in the art studio as just the beginning!

Just one more that can’t be left out…we are thankful for the opportunity to work with our students and find JOY in what we do. We desire all students to experience JOY in our workshops and camps. We have a lot of fun at Cloud 9 Workshop. Laugher and silliness are an important part of every day. Our lessons are carefully written and planned but we allow them to evolve as we observe the needs and interests of our students.
